Staatsolie Foundation for Community Development supported the renovation of O.S. 2 Livorno. The project helped improve the school building and created a safer, more child-friendly and more pleasant learning environment for students, teachers and staff.
O.S. 2 Livorno is located at Pandit Paltan Tewarieweg #29-31 and serves more than 140 students, 17 teachers and 5 support staff members. The school plays an important role in the Livorno community by providing children with access to basic education in their own neighbourhood.
Staatsolie Foundation’s involvement with the school started earlier with a donation of school bags to students. During that visit, it became clear that the school building urgently needed attention. Several parts of the building were in poor condition and no longer provided the level of safety and comfort needed for a child-friendly learning environment.
With support from Staatsolie Foundation, GOw2 and CC Downstream, the school was able to carry out renovation works. These included replacing loose ceiling boards, repairing unsafe walls, fixing holes and subsidence in floors, restoring walls and school boards, renewing gutters where needed, treating classrooms against woodlice and improving the interior of the classrooms.
The renovation created a safer, cleaner and more pleasant school environment for students, teachers and staff. The renewed school building was officially handed over on 20 January 2026. Through this project, Staatsolie Foundation contributed to better learning conditions and supported the continued development of the O.S. 2 Livorno school community.
