We recruit internationally for a focused group of specialist and senior roles. These may include technical and engineering positions in upstream, onshore, offshore and downstream operations, as well as subsurface, geosciences, ICT, digital transformation, finance, contract management, legal and compliance roles.
For most positions, candidates are expected to hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, geosciences, ICT, law or business administration. Senior positions generally require eight to ten years of relevant professional experience and strong specialist knowledge. We also value knowledge sharing and effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
Staatsolie recruits internationally when specific expertise is not sufficiently available in Suriname. This need is linked to the company’s growth, hard-to-fill roles and the expected retirement of experienced specialists. International recruitment is used selectively and also supports knowledge transfer, collaboration and innovation within our teams.
No. International and local candidates follow the same structured process and are assessed using the same criteria. All applications must be submitted through the Staatsolie Careers Portal. SAP SuccessFactors is used to manage your application, communication and status throughout the process.
The process consists of four phases: preparation, sourcing, selection and appointment. These cover vacancy publication, application review, interviews and possible assessments, followed by the employment offer, medical clearance and contract finalization. For difficult-to-fill positions, Staatsolie may also work with approved recruitment partners.
An assessment may be included in the selection process, depending on the position. A medical examination is mandatory for all candidates before employment begins. This requirement applies across all levels and professional disciplines at Staatsolie.
After you accept the offer, our HR department begins a structured onboarding process for international employees. This includes finalizing your employment contract, coordinating pre-arrival arrangements and preparing an integration plan to support your transition into your new role and life in Suriname.
Yes. Relocation assistance forms part of the compensation package for international hires. The specific terms are discussed and agreed upon during the offer stage and included in the employment contract. HR coordinates the process and supports you with the practical, administrative and logistical matters related to your move.
