Spill Gates Afobaka Dam Open Longer Due to Persistent High Water Level Reservoir
The spill gates of the Afobaka dam will remain open until August 2022 due to the persistent high water level in the reservoir.
The spill gates of the Afobaka dam will remain open until August 2022 due to the persistent high water level in the reservoir. Staatsolie Power Company Suriname N.V. (SPCS) is in close contact with the district commissioner of Brokopondo and the National Coordination Center for Disaster Management (NCCR) to closely monitor the situation in the villages downstream.
